Bio
Jason, born in Bells, TN, is a lifelong musician and educator. During high school, he earned the prestigious John Phillips Sousa Award and, in 1998, received the Joe Kincaid Memorial Scholarship for Musicians. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (with an English minor) from Lambuth University and a Master of Arts in Education from Bethel University. Jason has taught instrumental music privately and in schools, most recently at Haywood Middle School in Brownsville, TN. Since 2016, he’s served as the West TN Educational Representative for Amro Music Stores and is currently pursuing an Ed.S. at Austin Peay State University.
Jason co-wrote Crawlspace: A True Crime Musical with composer Matt Glickstein, which premiered at Tennessee Tech University in November 2022. The Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga presented staged readings of Crawlspace in July 2023 and a full production in December 2023. The show’s international premiere is set for November 2025 with Auckland Music Theatre in New Zealand.
His children’s musical Jo & the Gigalytes, also written with Glickstein, premiered in June 2024 at The Lanaʻi Academy of Performing Arts in Hawaii.
Jason’s 2018 concert band piece, Palace of the Snow Queen, is published by GPG Music, while his 2020 piece, On a Starry Night, is published by Alfred Music and was performed by the Eastern Wind Symphony at the 2021 Midwest Clinic in Chicago (a prestigious international band and orchestra conference).
He and Matt are currently completing work on Flight of the Mothman, a new children's musical that will premiere in 2025.
